These technical officials, who have been in post for over 30 years in managing technology, technology transfer, import and export of technology, strongly believe that the workshops have addressed the crucial issues and key components of technological capacity building, which has been preoccupied with academia and the politicians. His recent seminars on Benchmarking China Firm Competitiveness delivered at Antai Management School, Shanghai Jiao Tong University; School of Public Management, Zhejiang University, Business School, Nanjing University; School of Economics and Management, Tsinghua University, and Management of Technology Study Centre, University of International Business and Economics; on addressing why China’s technology strategy of obtaining technology by sacrificing its market partly failed is genuinely thought provoking, which has attracted great attention from academia, politicians and practitioner.
