Management of Technology Study
Centre at UIBE was formally launched
Launch
ceremony of the establishment of Management of Technology Study Centre (MOTSC)
at University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) was
formally held at the Conference Hall, UIBE on 26th October, 2007.
Professor Lin Guijun, UIBE Deputy President, formally announced the
establishment and highlighted the primary aims and objectives of MOTSC.
He expects that MOTSC will foster a research culture and be natural home
for active researchers across the university. He also expects that MOTSC
will play a vital role in conducting active research in the areas of
technology management, strategic management, knowledge management,
technology transfer, technology trade and international project
contracting. He encourages researchers to participate actively the
research projects initiated by the centre and publish in international
journals and contribute to the capacity building of the university.
Dr Richard Li-Hua was invited as Foundation Director of the centre by
the university and was conferred the engagement book by Professor Lin.
Dr Li-Hua delivered his inaugural speech. He expressed that he feel very
honoured and privileged to be the Foundation Director of the centre. He
emphasized UIBE has already possessed world class research facilities
and active researchers and academic staff with extensive experience of
business, research, consulting and training relevant to management of
technology and has academic collaborative linkages to a large number of
prestigious universities across the world. He highlights that China¡¯s
ambition of becoming ¡°an innovation-oriented country¡± by 2020 and a
¡°world¡¯s leading science power¡± by 2050 has drawn world attention. In
another word, China¡¯s leaders wish to see the country transformed into
an innovation-oriented society in not a long distance. The establishment
of the centre demonstrates that UIBE will actively participate in the
process of building China into an innovation oriented society.
MOTSC is designed to be an international study centre ¨C an academic and
research arm of UIBE by drawing expertise from within and beyond UIBE in
particular from the School of International Trade and Economics, School
of Business and other schools of UIBE, committed to encouraging and
supporting researchers and professionals who are engaging research in
management of technology. MOTSC aims to establish national, regional,
and international collaborative research programs in the field of
technology management, technology innovation, technology transfer,
technology strategy, IPR management and strategy as well as knowledge
management, innovation and transfer by engaging government agencies,
funding agencies, educational institutions, state-own enterprises (SOEs)
as well as private sectors nationally and internationally.
